Butterscotch Caramel Nut Bars
- 2 cups Quaker Oats Quick 1 Minute oats
- 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar, packed
- 1 2/3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups butter, melted
- 2/3 jar Mrs. Richardson’s Butterscotch Caramel Topping
- 8 ounces semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
Combine oats, sugar, flour, soda and salt into a bowl and blending well with a fork. Add melted butter and mix well. Put half of this mixture in a 9 by 13 inch pan spreading evenly and pressing lightly with a fork. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove from oven. Drizzle with butterscotch caramel topping, then spread the topping with the back of spoon. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts on topping and crumble remaining oat mixture to cover. Return to oven and continue baking another 40 minutes.
Cool 15 minutes and cut into squares. Let cool completely and wrap individually in plastic wrap and chill in refrigerator overnight. This important step will change the consistency of the bars from chewy to melt in your mouth pralines.
