Stuffed Turkey Burgers
Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground dark turkey
- 1 cup finely diced red onion or sliced green onions
- 1/2 cup finely diced green pepper, Anaheim pepper or pepper of choice (adjust the amount for spicy peppers)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 6 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded or cut into small cubes
- 6 tablespoons minced parsley
- 4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
Sauté onions, green pepper or pepper of choice, and garlic, in the oil for 5 minutes. Cool. Mix the ground turkey, cheese cubes, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and cooled vegetable mixture. Form into patties. Fry until fully cooked, using lower heat than you would a hamburger because the turkey easily burns. These freeze well.
